First of all, you have to log into your cPanel account.

How to Login cPanel Account

To login directly to the cPanel account, type the site URL in the address bar of the web browser and add “: 2082” or “: 2083” as a suffix. For example, your site URL is “www.example.com”, type it “www.example.com:2082” in the browser. If your site uses SSL certificate then use “: 2083” (www.example.com:2083) or if not using SSL then use “: 2082” (www.example.com:2082 ).  You can also type cPanel instead of numbers like www.example.com/cpanel/.

Now, you will be asked to fill in the login ID and password to access the cPanel account, fill the same ID and password of the web host account ID and password. If you are unable to complete this process then you can also log in through the web host account. Each web host has a different process but this process is an easy process.

How to Create a MySQL Database on cPanel

  1. Login cPanel Account.
  2. In cPanel Home, click on the MySQL database you will find in the Database section.

  4. After filling the database name, click on the Create Database button.
  5. You will see a message that “Added the database DatabaseName”.
  6. Your database name will apear as “cPanelUserName_DatabaseName” in “current database table”.
  7. Click on “Go Back“.

  1. Scroll down until you find the current database section.
  2. Find the name of the database you want to delete.

  3. Find the delete link in the same line and click on it.
  4. On clicking the delete link, you will be asked for the last time whether you are sure to delete the database or not. If you are sure, click the delete link, otherwise not. Finally, your database will be deleted if you click the delete link.

  5. You also can rename the database name by clicking on the Rename Link located before the Delete Link.

Now you need to add New User with the password.

  3. Click on the Create User button.

  4. On clicking the delete link, you will be asked for the last time whether you are sure to delete the database user or not. If you are sure, click the delete link, otherwise not.

  6. And you can also change the password of the user by clicking on the Change Password link before the Rename link.

How to assign database and privileges to MySQL database user on cPanel

Now user and database, both are ready. You only need to assign a database to a user. Then, assign privileges to user.

  2. Select the name of the user and database that you want to allow access to the database from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the “Add” button.
  4. You will be asked to manage the privileges of the user.

  6. Tick on all privileges, if you are doing it for yourself.
  7. Click on the Make Changes button.

How to un-assign privileges to MySQL user on cPanel

  1. Scroll down until you find the “Add User to Database” section.
  2. Select the name of the user and database that you want to allow access to the database from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the “Add” button.
  4. You will be asked to manage the privileges of the user.
  5. Untick the privileges which you want to un-assign to the user.
  6. Click on the make changes button.
